Ode to Bird

Up and down and round and round,
I flew into the violet haze;
I fluttered and danced, till i found
A bright primrose to attract my gaze.

I saw the sun , it smiled at me,
And crashed the cloud's morning tea.
I saw a centipede  scamper to the ground
"Don't worry poor thing", said I, be happy and sound.

I felt the earth, breathe new life
The grasses grew in bountiful,
Wandering alone, without a wife
I felt happy and wonderful.

The day is long , so very long
I have just started, many things to heed.
A nightingale joins me in  a song,
Her voice sounds beautiful , indeed.

Unaware of a treacherous man,
I stooped and dived as  low as I can;
He reached and grabbed me unaware,
Grinning and roaring, as if to scare.

I pushed and tried to fly away
Only to be clenched, with mighty rage;
Will i ever be joyous and gay,
Trapped in this lonely cage!!
